Our Savior's Church runs like one ministry in 8 places, with AVL and networking designed, installed and supported by one Acadiana-based team.
Talk to Our Team →All Case StudiesOur Savior's Church serves about 20,000 people every weekend across 8 campuses in Acadiana. Each campus has its own sound, video and lighting, and every one of those systems depends on the network.
The church needs flexibility most networks are not built for. On some weekends all 8 campuses share the same sermon. On others, each campus runs its own service independently. Editors at the church's production house in Lafayette work on content every week. And the ministry reaches beyond its own walls: services stream into 5 jails across Acadiana.
A network-only provider can keep the internet up but can't install and support the sound, video and lighting at each campus. An AV-only provider can install a console but can't run the networks and IT that connect 8 campuses. At this scale, the gap between the two is where Sunday goes wrong.
Our Savior's Church has partnered with Vital since before 2019. VITAL stands for Video, IT, Audio and Lighting, and the Acadiana-based team designs, installs and supports all four. The same people who understand the church's network understand its AVL systems, so the two are planned and supported together instead of by separate vendors.
Vital installs and supports the AVL systems at every campus, provides monthly IT support, and supports the networks that connect them: 12 managed networks in total. Every campus is equipped to share the sermon or run its own service, depending on the weekend.
AVL systems tie into the network for automation. Sound and video power up on a schedule, TVs turn on and off around service times, and lighting scenes and presets are recalled by service. Systems can be monitored and controlled remotely, so problems are caught before the doors open.
The networks connect all 8 campuses for data and IT, while the AVL systems are installed and supported at each campus. Every campus can join a shared service or stand alone.
Worship teams adjust their own in-ear monitor mixes from iPads. The worship and check-in iPads are under device management, so they stay configured and ready every weekend.
When the work began, no jails were connected. Vital designed and built the solution from the ground up. Each of the 5 jails had different requirements, and the key was integrating with the system already in place instead of replacing it. At some facilities, Vital fed services through RF modulators into the jail's existing TV system. Others received services through YouTube. Where neither fit, Vital ran cable to each TV.
The result is a church that runs like one ministry in 8 places. Staff and volunteers focus on the service, not on whether the technology between campuses will hold.
Each campus needs its own sound, video and lighting systems, installed and supported on site, plus reliable networks for data and IT. With both in place, each campus can share the sermon or run its own service on any given weekend.
Every facility is different. Depending on what the jail already has, services can be fed through an RF modulator into its existing TV system, delivered through an internet stream such as YouTube, or carried on cable run directly to each TV.
Modern sound, video and lighting systems rely on the campus network for scheduling and control. When separate vendors own each side, problems fall into the gap between them. One team that knows both closes that gap.
